
The C-IED COE mission is to provide subject matter expertise in order to support the Alliance, its Partners, and the International Community in the fight against IED and co-operate to increase security of Allied Nations and troops deployed in theatres of operations, reducing or eliminating the threats from improvised explosive devices used or for use, in particular by terrorists or insurgents.
Products and services are focused on the analysis of IED information, the investigation and development of new material and technology, and education and training.
The C-IED COE will produce, develop, maintain, provide and/or contribute to:
a) Leadership and central repository of C-IED Lessons Learned (LL) process with coordinated analysis;
b) Secure web-based C-IED information system;
c) Identification and analysis of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) referred to C-IED;
d) Analysis and prediction of emerging and futures threats;
e) Analysis of supportive measures to C-IED strategy;
f) Analysis of new technical capabilities supporting C-IED;
g) Identification/analysis of capability gaps and requirements;
h) Advice on standards for the evaluation of C-IED systems;
i) NATO and National exercises and experimentation;
j) Ad-hoc C-IED Advisory teams;
k) NATO C-IED training;
l) C-IED briefings;
m) Advanced multinational C-IED courses;
n) Promotion of C-IED activities;
o) Development of C-IED Doctrine, handbooks, guidelines.
