Welcome to the C-IED Centre of Excellence Web Page. It is for me an honour to be the new Director of this Centre, where we will make every possible effort to contribute to increase the security of our deployed troops, particularly in the C-IED field.

Born on the 21st of September 1958, I joined the Spanish Army in 1976 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1982. I graduated from Staff College in 1996, and my last assignment has been as Battalion Commander in the SP 10th Mech Brigade.

In the international side I completed six years as a Staff Officer, three in HQ ARRC (Rheindahlen, Germany) and three more in HQ NRDC-IT (Solbiate Olona, Italy). I have also attended to several courses, like Winter-Warfare in Norway and NATO Operational Planning, amongst others.
